The cross was done between a striped veitchii from the Kelabit Highland and an extremely squat

It was previously known as Nepenthes hurrelliana but recent research has found it to be heterotropic synonym to the original name mollis (so the name mollis sticks)

This hybrid produces traps with a unique orange hue rarely seen in Nepenthes
